In this fun and super packed two and a half-days workshop, you will learn all the basic techniques of the lost wax method to create a relief glasswork. We will work with clay, wax, plaster and other materials to create our works. Learn how to build molds and eventually, how to cast the work in glass. Develop an understanding of positive and negative space. After the works have been fired we will reconnect to de-mold them, learn how to clean them and do any necessary hand polishing. The course Includes all material and up to 1 kg of glass.
JUNE WEEKEND 17-18
Saturday 17th and Sunday Sun 18th of June 2023
9am - 5pm, plus an extra half a day to clean the glass after the firing. This date is chosen with the whole group in class.
At Sofia's studio, Henderson Valley, Auckland.
A refund will be given if you withdraw from a workshop a week before the start date, less 25% cost of the workshop. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable if you miss a class. Sofia Athineou reserves the right to cancel or postpone any class that does not reach a viable enrolment number. If a class is canceled, you will be notified no less than 5 days before the start of the class and a full refund will be given.
